For CJ Kell to be included in an art gallery display in one of the greatest cities in the world famous for art and architecture, it is a dream six years in the making.
The Venice Biennial is an art and architecture event that started in 1895. The city rotates the two media each year, with this year art being the focus. The event draws over half a million visitors annually. Small galleries have opportunities to share their works with exhibitions outside and around the main pavilions of the city.
Kell’s digital works will be on display for the entire month of May in the Biennale Artbox Expo at the Tana Art Space, Fondamenta de la Tana 2109A, 30122 Venezia during regular operating hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The gallery sponsoring Clyde’s work is the Art Box Projects. https://www.artboxprojects.com/. The Biennial web site is https://www.labiennale.org/en/art/2022/information.
Kell has previously had his digital works on display in three galleries. In URBANSIDE Gallery Zurich, Switzerland, the Thomson Gallery Zug, Switzerland and Lelie Galerij Amsterdam, Netherlands have previously shown his works this past April.
“I have entered several online juried art contests and exhibitions and have won various art awards. After exhaustive Internet research, I found these organizations that support emerging artists around the world and offer physical brick-and-mortar exhibitions digitally,” Kell said, “Putting a smile on the face and a twinkle in the eye of the viewer is indeed a humbling experience.”
Kell chose digital art for a simple reason. The costs for traditional art media were too costly and memberships within certain art societies and organizations equally so.
Kell is thrilled and humbled to be on display. His other work is available at his website. Visit http://www.cjkellartworks.com/ to learn more.
