We want to share some important news about upcoming changes at both Fusion Art and our sister gallery, Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery. Starting January 1, 2027, we will be making a modest adjustment to our competition entry fees.
We have always worked hard to keep entry costs reasonable so that artists at every stage of their career, from students to established professionals, can afford to submit their work and have it seen by our jurors and audience. That commitment has not changed. But like any organization, we are not immune to rising operational costs, and after holding our rates steady for a long time, a small increase has become necessary to keep both galleries running strong and to continue offering the level of service, promotion, and prize support our artists have come to expect.
Even with this adjustment, we want to be clear about one thing: our fees remain among the most affordable in the online art competition space. Many comparable galleries charge a minimum of $20-$25 per image. Our new rates stay well below that standard.
Here is what will change, and when.
The new rates will take effect with each gallery's first competition deadline of the year. For Light Space & Time, that will be our 18th "Abstracts" competition, with a deadline of January 27th. For Fusion Art, that will be our Black & White 2027 competition, with a deadline of January 1st. Any competition with a deadline before those dates will still be entered at current pricing.
Fusion Art: New entries will be $30 for 1 to 2 images, which comes to $15 per image, an increase of only $2.50 per image. Entries of up to 5 images will be $45, averaging $9 per image, up from the previous average of $8 per image when submitting the full five.
Reminder: These new rates begin with our Black & White 2027 competition, which has a deadline of January 1st.
Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery: New entries will be $20 for 1 to 2 images, which works out to $10 per image, and $30 for 3 to 5 images, which averages to $6 per image when submitting the full five. Our early entry discount will continue as well. Artists who enter during the first month a competition is open will pay the discounted rate of $18 for 1 to 2 images and $28 for 3 to 5 images. Our student discount will also be adjusted, moving to $18 for 1 to 2 images and $26 for 3 to 5 images. Light Space & Time is still the only online gallery offering both an early entry and student discount, and we're proud to keep both in place.
Reminder: To qualify for the student discount, artists must enter using a valid educational email address ending in .edu, and that address must be the one associated with their Submittable account. We mention this because we've recently seen the discount used by artists who don't appear to be currently enrolled students. We'd much rather keep the discount in place, but continued misuse may leave us no choice but to discontinue it. We appreciate our artists helping us keep this benefit available for the students who genuinely qualify.
Our Solo Art Series entry fee will be $30 for 5 images. Our popular Summer and Winter "5 for $10" competitions, held twice a year, will stay exactly the same. No change there.
Again, these new rates begin with our 18th "Abstracts" competition, which has a deadline of January 27th and our 35th “Solo Art Series,” which has a deadline of January 5th.
Along with this update, we’re pleased to share some good news too. In 2027, both galleries will be expanding the number of winners who receive cash prizes. More of our talented artists will be recognized with a cash award or complimentary membership to our Fusion Art Members Gallery than ever before. We will be announcing the full new prize structure for each gallery in December, so keep an eye out for that.
For our Fusion Art Members Gallery members, there is one more update on the way. We’re making changes to the Fusion Artist Membership program, and we’ll share full details before the end of the year. Current members will receive a direct email outlining exactly what is changing and what it means for their membership.
We know that any fee increase, even a modest one, is not something artists want to see, and we don’t take that lightly. Please know that every decision we make is guided by our goal of keeping these galleries sustainable, well run, and worth being part of for years to come.
